How we met Met through a friend when Emma moved from Perth to Canberra.
The proposal Within a day of being together! We didnt make it official
until 7 months later though. Much to the delight of family and friends.
Summary of the big day Extremely hot! But beautiful. The day ran smoothly, with
only a slight hiccup at the reception.
Fondest Memory The page boy (groom's son) taking control of the dance floor and doing his own dance rendition of "Mambo No5".
Worst Memory The whole heat! All we wanted to do was down a coldie and go to bed! 38 degree heat, no breeze and right on the lake with the glare of the sun pounding onto us. :-)
Funniest Moment When the celebrant asked the best man to read his paragraph - but he didnt know what to do as we had forgot to tell him! Luckily, the celebrant had it written down for him.
Money Saving Ideas I bought most stuff on ebay - the wedding dress, the bridesmaid dress, the bonbonnoire, personalised bubbles, napkins, cake bags, table runners, candles and candle holders. Shop around and get lots of quotes, ask for the best deals.
Bride's/Groom's advice Plan a day when most guests can make it, around holidays (we chose christmas/new years) so that you are guaranteed a good turnout. Send invitations for double the amount of people you want (ie: send 100 if you want 50). Remember, it is YOUR day, don't let anyone or anything get you down, because you are the one standing there having the best day of your life! :-)
What we would do differently Pick somewhere that had shade! And provide refreshments at the ceremony.

Feedback
Ceremony Went very well. No hiccups, the only problem we had was the heat, but that could not have been helped! It rained for days and days leading up to it, and we must have prayed to hard for
sunshine!
Reception Venue Had some hiccups with the bar not being open on time, the candles not being lit and the rest of the room not being set up. So we did it ourselves and got on with the show.
Photography Locations Was brilliant. The photographers were fantastic, great communication, excellent photos.
Rings It was hard to find the rings we wanted because everyone kept showing us plain bands, which is what we did not want! Looked around for a long time before we found what we were happy with.
Bridal Gown I was searching eBay and came across my perfect dress! Only needed slight alterations from a dressmaker.
Bridesmaids' Dresses It was beautiful - I didnt know what it looked like until the big day, and I was very pleased.
Hair So happy with the hair. I had a couple of consultations and trials before hand, and it was even better on the day.
Make-up So happy with the hair. I had a couple of consultations and trials before hand, and it was even better on the day.
Suits Wow! Did he look hot in a suit! Xavier provided excellent service and provided us with the best suits.
Transport We used our own cars for feasibility purposes as we were all going out afterwards.
Invites/Bomboniere I hand made the invites and bought the card stock from Pepe's Paperie who have a fantastic range. The Bomboniere came from a lovely store on eBay who personalised everything for us.
Flowers Poetry in Flowers were fantastic! I picked what I wanted out of a magazine and they did them perfectly. The prices were suprisingly fantastic!
Cake Annies Cake Place was very gold. She took me through her kitchen to show me other cakes. It tasted delicious. Very talented lady.
Music I was weary to call an outsourcing company - but MobyDisc DJ's were the best ever! A lot of crowd interaction - he even got up and did a dance with the kids, taught them how to bust a move and played us a suprise song at the end.
Photography Emily was great. Very nice, calming, cheerful. Fantastic photographer!!
Videography Family & Friends did this and it was magic.
Bridal Registry We chose to have gift cards for our presents as we couldn't decide what we wanted. However, the gifts we got were wonderful!
Honeymoon We are saving for a house, so we chose to have our honeymoon at the family coast house and tour the coast line for a few weeks.
